Lisa Niedzwiecki (Nidzveski) is thrilled to begin working as the Resource Teacher at the Underwood Hills Focus School. She began working with students with unique learning needs, while working as a paraprofessional with Omaha Public Schools at Chandler View Elementary. Her love of working with the students led her to earn her Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education (Mild to Moderate Disabilities). In 2003 Mrs. Niedzwiecki began teaching for Omaha Public Schools as a Resource Teacher at Indian Hill Elementary. She went on to complete a Masters in Special Education (Teaching Resource and Learning Disabilities).
While at Indian Hill, Mrs. Niedzwiecki served on the Safe Secure Disciplined Schools Team, which promoted positive behavior supports school-wide. She also worked on the Student Assistance Team, helping teachers, create, implement, and maintain interventions for struggling students. She has team taught several subjects to provide the best type of learning environment for students. She also encourages students to become their own advocates, providing input into their Individual Education and Behavior Intervention Plans.
Mrs. Niedzwiecki looks forward to building lasting positive relationships with teachers, parents, and students to help students reach their fullest potential. She is excited to be a part of the new Focus School and all it has to offer. A quote by Henry Ford sums up her feelings and attitude towards her new adventure at the school, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
